Recently, we had the opportunity to shoot a destination engagement in Lanzarote in the Canary Islands. For quite a long time Lanzarote was among our bucket list of places we were eager to go to.

Lucas and Kelly are two gentle souls full of joy. Always with a (gorgeous) smile on their faces, willing to dance everywhere and deeply in love.

We chose to start our engagement in Lanzarote on the outskirts of the Timanfaya’s National Park. The background, the red sand, the black roads and the warm sunset light were everything we dreamt of during our planning.

An intimate wedding, with attention to every single detail in a truly special location. Located in the Sabatini mountains, outside Rome and far away from the noise of the big city, the Residenza di Rocca Romana is a small village with a huge park full of greenery and flowers. We took the opportunity to take photos among the ancient trees and also on Lake Bracciano (which is within walking distance) during the hours close to sunset and the result was breathtaking. Intense but warm colours, full of life, just like Luca and Julia are.

Although documenting what happens during a wedding is without a doubt what I prefer to do, there's no denying that slowing down a bit and enjoying a more relaxed photoshoot with the bride is always welcoming.

In this stylised session we went with a celestial approach: the stars, the moon and a palette of earthy and golden tones.

In mezzo a chiusure e restrizioni, hanno deciso di celebrare un matrimonio intimo in un teatro storico delle Marche. Il Teatro delle Logge si trova nel cuore di Montecosaro, un paesino di cui ci siamo innamorati per quanto è curato e affascinante, e anche se risale al cinquecento, attualmente è di stile ottocentesco.

My love for Venice runs deep, I’m not sure what it is about this magicalcity that sparks something on my inside. It seems both unreal and so rooted in history. Their canals, narrow streets, surrounded by water. Every time I visit it, I find new places to explore and never get tired of getting lost.

The problem with Rome is that it is monstrous: too many places, too many distractions, too many people. How can you achieve beautiful wedding photos in Rome? La città era la residenza dell'imperatore Domiziano nel 1° secolo e molto tempo dopo nel 16° secolo divenne una residenza papale. Una posizione davvero affascinante.

While most photographers will avoid lens flare, most wedding photographers are obsessed with it since will create majestic images. I personally love lens flare and try actively to achieve it during weddings and engagement shoots. Starbursts are a recurring tool in my fine art wedding photography pictures.

Engagement sessions are truly special for us. On any occasions they are our first encounter with our couples, they are occasions to get to know each other better and above all to document the love of two people in a relaxed way and in a terrific location. And on top of this, if you shoot an engagement session for two dear friends, then the result can only be incredible.

For some time now I have specialised in family photo sessions. I look for spontaneity, capturing the essence of relationships. I don't particularly like posing photos and my approach in photographing families is to "disappear". Make them be themselves. This will allow you to have genuine shots; photos that when you see them will scream back at you: "This is us!".

This beautiful emotional day at Residenza Antica Flaminia was EVERYTHING a destination wedding photographer can ask for! Amelia and Alex are one of the sweetest couples I had the opportunity to collaborate with. From the first moment their love for Rome and Italy was inspiring. Theirs was an extremely elegant wedding but at the same time full of joy, laughter and sincere emotions. The Villa is full of opportunities for some natural, genuine wedding photography. The lightning, the "mise en place", decoration, speeches all where stunning and helped make this wonderful day in something beautiful that we won't ever forget.

On all my years as a destination wedding photographer, I’ve found few couples with such minimal attention to detail. Nothing left to chance. All organized with great elegance. For me, the icing on the cake was being able to spend a whole morning with them the day before their wedding and to be able to photograph them without haste, with all of Rome for us. The Colosseum, the Roman Forum, the Pantheon ... all empty for our photo session. The dream of any wedding photographer in Rome!

One of the things I like most about being a wedding photographer is being able to interact with people. "Action and reaction" is a principle that I try to always apply in photographing weddings. When something happens, how do those around me react? Therefore, photographing the wedding of one of your best friends becomes something special. Debora and Jose's wedding was special for many reasons. Valencia is the city where I was born and coming back always makes me excited, La Mozaira is a different location to any other, intimate and full of character. A beautiful structure that reflects the traditional values ​​of the Valencian countryside.
